The Lawn Mower Goats
Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 9:21PM Oh, how I wanted to take one of these cuties home, as a pet. I think my dog might get jealous though. She's a bit of a diva. These are the lawn mowing rent-a-goats. They were cleaning up an area just down the street from my house the other day. They will even eat the blackberry bushes that tend to get out of control around here. As a bonus, they fertilize the grass too. :)
I'm sad to say that they're already gone. They did their job quickly and moved on, somewhere else. I'm glad that I had a chance to take some photos. This isn't something you see everyday in the city.

I love everything about this concept.
Little 1342 looks like such a sweetie pie.
Oh my son probably will want to buy one for our place since he has to mow about 5 acres with a push mower every 10 days or so.
The goats are effective at keeping down the blackberries and to a degree the grass. They also keep down the flowers, shrubs and like to eat the bark on small trees. When Derek was very small we had two milk goats. They were a lot of fun, but they liked the flowers more than the grass. Once the flowers were gone, they would chew on some of the lawn. :-)

That's pretty cool!
Thank you everyone. Tracie...I think a goat is just what your son needs. ; )
If I could find somebody who'd bring lawn mowing goats, I'd hire them. How cool. Goats are the finniest things ever.
