Woodinville Wine Tasting

Celebrating a new job for my husband, we met some good friends in Woodinville last night for some wine tasting and a picnic.  There are quite a few wineries here, all within walking distance of each other.  I enjoyed wandering around, just taking in the beauty of the gardens and the buildings.

The building above is a restaurant called The Herb Farm.  Isn't it pretty?  I still haven't had dinner here.  I want to.

I like the expressions on the faces in this photo below.  Yes, that is water in my son's glass.

Apples and hydrangeas...such a great idea.  I'm going to copy this sometime, for a centerpiece on my own table.

The Novelty Hill Januik winery is such a beautiful place for a wedding or a party.  I'm just stashing away ideas....

This is where we had our picnic, at the Columbia winery.  This was such a fun way to celebrate.

Stashing away ideas. I do that, too. I have files, some dating back over thirty years, stuffed with little pictures of places and tiny environments that speak to my heart. The herb place looks intriguing. As though it were tucked away somewhere in southern france. Wineries are not something culturally familiar to me, tea-totalers that we are. But when I see the big, beautiful places that some of them become, I love to let my imagination wander along the garden paths and down into the rows of grapes. I am smiling, thinking of how you will handle Grace's wedding - it will be amazingly beautiful.

What a lovely location! I wonder what the men were looking at in that photo. My bet is a fancy car ;-)

Sarah, There was a bocce ball court outside in the direction they were looking. Either that, or they were just concentrating on tasting the wine. ; )
Michelle, Yes. Another new job, but the other ones were contract positions. This one is permanent!
Kristen, Thank you. I just hope I won't be one of those overbearing mothers who push my daughter's preferences aside when it's time. I don't want to wait that long to throw a great party though. I'm thinking of an anniversary party or something!

Hiya :-) For some reason I was unable to post on your Fashion Week post. I'm not going to repeat my comment here, especially because soon no doubt all three of my efforts will appear like spam in your inbox! ;-) Just wanted to let you know though that I did try! :-)
