I haven't been feeling so great this week but I feel like I'm turning a corner, at least in my attitude about it.  Here are some things that are making me smile.....

-my dog's Chewbacca voice, and the funny way she sounds like she's saying hello when she greets her loved ones

-snacking on blackberries, right off the bush, every time I walk to and from school with my son

-I don't have to go anywhere tonight.  I just get to stay home and relax.

-a text from my husband in the middle of the day, just telling me that he loves me.

-enjoyed a great lunch out today, and an excuse to dress up

-the weekend is almost here

-the house is quiet right now

-I'm going to eat this for dinner tonight.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ah Dawn, I hope the weekend helps you to feel better. It is so nice that you can see goodness all around you. Thanks also for the comments on my blog. I really appreciate it. Here's hoping the weekend is refreshing for us both.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Isn't that funny about your poodle. Ours appears to bark "out" and "no". "No" in response to "bath" or "out". He hates the bath and he is afraid of the dark.

You are doing it right, hand picking your moments and holding them in both hands, holding them in the stream of light that comes dancing through the kitchen window. They will warm you as you sit quietly. Heaven knows, the world outside of them is chaotic and frantic. But you don't really have to look at that part of life - as long as you warm yourself at love.

I missed, somehow, the gluten problem. Years ago, Murphy began to develop this rash, and we couldn't figure out what it was. The dermatologist suggested that it might be a gluten intolerance. And prescribed - now I can't remember what it is, but it's what they prescribe for leprosy, actually. It's supposed to be fine to take on the long-term if you don't have any reactions to it right away. And it seemed to help - and still seems to help. But after his time in Argentina, and when he was at Pixar, he did a lot of research on it himself. He has chosen to control it by diet, which is not easy for people with the American lifestyle. But is still livable. He's lost a lot of extra pounds and looks wonderful and has energy and feels healthier all the time. It's just that you have to make wise choices constantly. You can't eat ANY gluten at all - you can't decide just to eat a little and see if you get "used" to it. That's what we've learned from a couple of doctors. This this just IS. And you have to go with that. In one of the posts I read tonight, you remarked that you have learned to roll with the weather. And you're right - it's the way we have to live with mortal life, that changes all the time, and not always to the comfortable. But if you can really internalize that attitude, you can always find peace and joy. It was very well said.
