Pinning it down- hearts

Sarah, at Amongst Lovely Things, is hosting a linky party at her blog today, called Pinning it Down.  The idea is to motivate those of us who love Pinterest, to actually make some of the things we pin to our boards there.  So here's what Pinterest has inspired me to make this week. Above, is a garland I have hanging across my kitchen window.  I made it out of old sheet music and a heart punch.  The original idea was found here.  Unfortunatley, this link only goes to the main page of the blog it's from.  The pin I found did not link to the actual post.  Remember, when pinning, link to the specific blog post, not the main blog! ; )

And here is a needle felted heart on a stick that I just made up.  About halfway through the process of needle felting the heart, I placed a stick on the backside of the heart, wrapped more wool roving around it all, and continued needle felting so that the stick was held in place.  Be careful not to actually poke the stick with the needle- or you'll break or bend your needle.  If you want to learn more about how to needle felt a heart, Donni, at Magic Onions, has a great tutorial.

And here is one more heart on a stick.  This one, I put in a planter outside.  I actually made a couple of these, but the other one disappeared.  I think my dog took it, little thief!  The original inspiration was found here.  I made mine with a wire hanger and needle nose pliers, which wan't very easy, but I didn't feel like making a trip to the store for craft wire.

Just repinned the heart garland. Love the theme especially since St. Valentine's Day is coming up.

I really like your banner - I need to make more of these for around the house. They make it look so much cheerier. Thank you, too, for the reminder to pin to the actual post. It has become a pinterest pet peeve of mine and I was planning a post myself on that very topic :)
