I made a flower necklace that I saw on Little Miss Momma. The necklace was easier to make than photographing it was. Above, is attempt number one at a self portrait with the necklace. I had a little help as you can see. What you can't see is the necklace, and the lighting was bad, so I gave that up and tried again in the morning.
Attempt #2- it really does feel weird to take my own picture, but I was challenging myself. When the necklace tutorial says to cut out lots and lots of little circles...she really does mean lots. If I were to make this again, I would use the same color of felt to back the pom pom flowers as the fabric color. You can see the white felt backing, just a bit, the way I made it. The tutorial says to use cotton fabric, and I know it's supposed to look frayed, but the little threads that kept falling off the pom poms were really bugging me, so I sprayed the whole thing with hairspray, to keep the threads from coming off any more. That seemed to work.
And since I'm so big on variety, here's another navy blue thing to put around my neck. It's made out of an old t-shirt, cut into strips. I actually made this one awhile ago. I found the tutorial here. I've been really into accessorizing lately, probably because I haven't been letting myself buy any new clothes until I reach my goal weight. Once I'm there, I'll be back to my pre-baby weight. Never mind that my youngest is eight years old....it still feels really good to be closing in on that goal.
