Hi, I'm Dawn Klinge, welcome!  I write here because doing so helps me to take notice of the sweet things in life.

I don't really have a story to tell with these photos.  They're just some recent ones, that's all.  And I wanted to say hello.

I took the picture above while out on a run with my husband.  I really should run with him more often.  He pushes me harder than I ever push myself.  I think we ran twice as far as I normally do that day, twice as fast.

I finally broke down and went to Ikea.  I had a bad experience there over a year ago, but the lure of inexpensive Swedish modern furniture was too much to resist- even if they do have terrible customer service sometimes.  They redeemed themselves though.  This time was much better, and I got a new table and chairs to put on my back patio.  It's a very simple table.  I hope that they don't discontinue the design anytime soon, because my plan is to get another one (or two) just like it, and push them together for bigger parties.  Of course we had to have friends over to try it out.  That was fun.

And it was a good excuse to make some of my favorite berry crisp, served hot out of the oven with vanilla ice cream.

This is Oliver and Trent.  No, they're not brothers.  They just look and act like it.  I think they both liked the berry crisp.  Trent was guarding his very carefully. ; )

This week is the start of 30 Day Vegan.  I'm going to be spending a lot more time in the kitchen over these next few weeks and I'm excited.  I'm ready.  I already did my shopping trip for the first week's menus.  I ended up needing to do an entire kitchen re-organization to find a place for everything.  I have a small kitchen that doesn't allow for storage of more than a week's worth of groceries at a time.  When most of those groceries consist of fresh produce, it gets even harder to find a place for everything.  I did it though, and I think we're going to eat very well.

I have done 30 day vegan twice - you will enjoy it. Heather does a really nice workshop.
Hey, guess what - inspired by your squarespace site - I checked it out and may have created a blog :)
Hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

I'm glad you were able to get your outside table and chairs. And what a beautiful backyard you have!

PS. Love Grace's hair. :-)

I know what you mean about wanting to say hello. We just want to reach across space and trade hugs and palms against each other's cheeks - a kiss on the forehead, so we offer pictures of what we love instead. I love it. The look on Trent's face is hilarious. The table surprised me = it was much smaller with people around it than it had seemed alone. Here's to eating well! Maybe some day I'll do it myself!

Denise-I'm so happy that you're blogging again. Your new space looks great!
Tara-Thank you. : )
Kristen-I love the expression on Trent's face too. That was a lucky shot.
