We've had a lot of rain lately. The pitter patter of it on the roof at night is one of my favorite sounds to fall asleep to. It has also put me in the mood to do some reading- just for fun. Death Comes to Pemberly and Bunheads are the reason that I haven't been online much lately. Both of them, totally enjoyable.
Stacks of freshly washed and folded laundry. Finished, for now. I may be a bit strange, but the sight of it just makes me happy, so I just had to take a picture.
Vegan lemon/blueberry muffins....so delicious. Over three weeks of eating Vegan now and I feel really good. I can't say that I feel deprived in any way. I think that it's the whole foods way of eating, more than anything else, that has really been the change for the better. The key to making this work has been in the planning. Menu plans, shopping lists, thinking ahead.....
I try to grocery shop once a week, but no matter how many apples I buy on shopping day, I always run out early. My kids love apples.

Little boys, such a sweet mixture of tender and tough. I feel so blessed that I get be Trent's mom, and I love having his friends around too. No child was hurt in the picture above- those are nerf arrows. Before I had my own son, I think I would have been slightly alarmed at the scene above. I just didn't understand boy stuff. Now, I just smile, and take a picture.

This post reads as one very content woman. Good for you! Your notebook shot reminds me that I must get back to menu planning and using my magic notebook. I fell off the wagon a few weeks ago am feeling quite out of the groove.
How interesting that you are eating vegan - good luck with it! I love my cheese too much to try it, but I am thinking more and more about returning to a vegetarian regime.
I love the photo of laundry. Nothing quite like a pile that has finally been folded :-)
I love freshly folded laundry too. I love to fold everything neatly and I love when my linen closet is all organized too! Homemakers are a weird bunch.
And... I am SO doing the 30 Day Vegan next time it is offered.
the rain is being such a drag! I never felt deprived eating vegan either which is just so crazy as it seems like the most restrictive diet. Okay, you may have just convinced me.....I may get it a go again.
I have to agree with you about the boy thing -- before I had boys I was certain they would never have bows & arrows, guns, or swords. And then of course once they're here, it seems they are hard-wired to connect to those kinds of things, so I had to let me preconcieved notions go. Good for you for just taking the picture!
Thank you everyone, for your kind words. : )
I laughed at the laundry picture! I have taken pictures of my kitchen after a good deep clean because I know it will only last 5 minutes! I am thinking of doing a vegan diet too, do you think it is any more expensive?
Kristen- It's good to know that I'm not the only one! About the vegan diet, I think that we are spending a bit more on food lately. That might taper off a bit though. I've been trying a lot of new recipes, which means a lot of new ingredients to buy. I'm on a learning curve too, so still trying to figure out ways to save on the ingredients I use. It would be helpful if I grew more of my own food. I started cooking my own beans though- that's a big way to save.
