7.19.12

These are just some random pictures from the past week.  We had a backyard party, which was a whole lot of fun.  I think there were around thirty friends who came.  Thunderstorms earlier in the day had me worried about what I would do if the backyard party needed to become a house party.  I don't think my little house would hold that many people.  The sun came out just in time.  We had pizza and s'mores, simple and sweet.

We had a great mix of kids, dogs, and adults, new friends and ones we've known forever.

I'm ready to have a few more parties before the summer ends.  We got another Ikea table to put with the one I bought earlier this summer- so now we can comfortably seat ten on the patio.

The picture above was taken in downtown Bellevue.  Now that the bridge connecting us with Seattle charges up to ten dollars for toll on a round trip, I find that we're spending more time on our own side of the lake.  And I really love it.  Bellevue is a beautiful city- different from Seattle, but with it's own charm.

Another park, another day. I find that keeping my son and his friends entertained at parks where they can run about to their heart's content= precious moments of peace and quiet for me.

And one last random picture, my husband's lunch.  Packing his lunch is the first thing I do every morning.  Spinach salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, goat cheese, and granola, Greek yogurt with a dallop of jam, miso soup with tofu and mushrooms, two hardboiled eggs and a piece of fruit.  It's pretty much always the same.  He makes me coffee first thing in the morning, I make his lunch.  We're a good team.

You are a good team. I never know what to make for lunch that doesn't include something placed between 2 pieces of bread. I love your yard. Great for entertaining. One last thing, your photography is getting noticeably better. Great shots.

we just got home from ikea :) Your backyard party sounds like it was the hit! Way to go.
I had no idea round trip on the 520 was $10 - wow.

Wow - you have a gorgeous backyard!! I would love to steal your grass...

Hmmm. I want to come to the party (I'll sit on the grass). And I want macaroons that are all colors. And I want you to pack my lunch. Is that everything? Well, yes - for now.

Bellevue does look like a beautiful city. How fun to keep exploring new areas nearby -- like the parks and coffee shops. Granola on a salad! I'll have to try that sometime.

Michelle- thank you : ) That is a very sweet compliment about my photography, and it means a lot to me.
Sarah- Not so creative anymore, since I've been making the same thing everyday, for a long time, but thank you. ; )
Denise- I have a love/hate relationship with Ikea....love the style and prices, hate the lack of customer service and the need to construct my furniture once I get it home.
Rachel- thank you. : ) Can you believe we never even have to use sprinklers?! The trade off of course is lots and lots of rain. I have to admit, I get a bit jealous of the weather you have in the south.
Kristen- I want you to come to my party too!
Tara- I don't know why I ignored Bellevue so long in favor of Seattle- it's so much closer.
