holiday at Lake Chelan

"Best vacation ever," is how my daughter described it.
I agree. It was also a simple vacation. We didn't drive far. And once we arrived, no car was needed. Neither were regular clothes. Swimsuits, flip flops, hats, sunscreen....that was about it. It was hot there, in the nineties, just the way we like it!

On Tuesday, my parents and my two nieces came to hang out with us at the beach.

We did take a drive up the lake one morning, for breakfast and picking at Blueberry Hills. It's one of my favorite places to eat. Word has got out on how fantastic this little place in the country is. The line stretched out the door and people were encouraged to share their tables with strangers, to make room for everyone. That was something new for me- at first a litttle awkward, but also kind of fun.

We wandered into a cute bookshop where my daughter found Kristen's book! It was one that I didn't have yet, so I was thrilled to get it.

I wasn't quite ready to leave yet, but once we picked up our sweet Genevieve, I was happy to be home.

What a romantic and beautiful place! And you all luck so happy! :)
It does look like a wonderful holiday! Just perfect for the whole family. And look at those tans! :-)
it looks like you had such a good time! Blueberry Hill is amazing food - the line was like that when we were there too. They must be doing very well :) And, yes...coming home to your dog is like the best thing ever!
Very nice! I agree... having a canine friend waiting at home does make the return easier.
Oh, I always end up saying, "I wanna come too!" We haven't been on a real vacation for - hmmm. If Disneyland counts, maybe two years. Does the one night we spent in Zuni count, I wonder? Really, it's not been since we went to Yellowstone - and since the entire family was young and with us, and Gin's been married for eleven years, I guess that's how long. I remember our trips to Montauk - me and my sibs and folks. That's this kind of vacation. And now you've made me yearn for another. I wonder if I'll ever go on one again? Not with that freedom of older children and young own body. For the rest of what "youth" I've got left, if I'm with the ones I love, I'll be worrying over whether the grandbabies are getting too far out into the current -
Oh man that looks awesome. I need some relaxation something terrible!
Thank you ladies, for your sweet words. : )
